💜 Mayor Hall Declares American College Application Campaign Season in Ozark 💛
To promote college awareness and access, OHS is participating in the American College Application Campaign (ACAC) sponsored by the Arkansas Department of Education and Division of Career and Technical Education (ADE-DCTE) from October 1, 2024, through December 31, 2024.
The goal of ACAC is to provide seniors the opportunity to complete and file college applications with the support of their school. In addition to submitting at least one college application, seniors will receive support in applying for Federal Student Aid, state aid from Arkansas Department of Education through the Scholarship Application Management System (SAMS), and local scholarships.
In Arkansas, any education pursued after high school is considered college — including industry certifications, apprenticeships, and military service. Obtaining postsecondary degrees has been linked to higher income, better health, and increased community involvement.
Much of the focus of College Application Month is geared toward first-generation college students and students who may not otherwise apply to college. This is the 7th annual College Application Month in Arkansas and the third time it has been held at OHS.
Ms. Dean, College Application Month event coordinator and career coach for OHS, is expecting more than 120 seniors to participate in ACAC.
